A380 Spar
Brek Manufacturing Company announced an order from BAE Systems for one of the largest machined parts on the new Airbus A380. The A380 Inboard Outer Fixed Leading Edge Spar is over 20 feet in length.

BAE Systems chose Brek for their strong management team, their dedication to invest in the latest technology, and their commitment to delivering a high quality product while meeting and surpassing customer deadlines and expectations.

"We are the only manufacturer in the world who can run the part 3 at a time on our new 3-spindle 100" gantry" stated Peggy Baker of Brek Manufacturing. "The final machining will be completed on our newest and fastest machine, the Cincinnati Hyper Mach."

The A380, which will seat 555 passengers in a three-class interior layout, is scheduled to enter service in 2006. It brings a new standard of comfort and better economics in an aircraft that is more environmentally responsible than prior aircraft. The A380 is the largest, most advanced and efficient commercial airliner ever produced. Airbus is an EADS joint company with BAE Systems.
